About waterjet cutting technology

The working water pressure ranges from 4,000 to 6,500 Bar. The pressure sources are special high-pressure pumps, which vary in power (11 – 75 kW) and water flow (1.2 – 7.6 l/min). The beam is formed in a cutting head terminated by a nozzle.
When processing soft materials we use pure water jet, while for other cases abrasive jet (hydro-abrasive jet) must be used. Garnet is a good example of a suitable additive – an abrasive chosen according to the hardness of the material to be cut.
In the mixing chamber, a precise amount of abrasive is added to the water jet.

The movement of the cutting head and therefore the entire cutting path is computer controlled according to a predefined program. It is also possible to make spatially complex cuts in a single operation. The standard accuracy of the cut-out is +/-0.2 mm.
No force is applied to the split material. The cutting edge is not thermally affected, it is always a cold cut. This fact is very important and this is a huge difference between waterjet and other material separation technologies, in particular laser and microplasma.
After cutting is completed, the mixture of water and abrasive is collected in a trap (bath) located under the material to be cut.
High-pressure water jet cutting is also often referred to as: water jet, water cutting, liquid jet cutting or hydroabrasive cutting.

Data for custom cutting
Perfect documents for custom cutting are files in the following formats:
- DXF
- DWG
- JPG
Also a sketch that we convert into electronic form is sufficient.
